Myckaëla Rouabah is a PhD Student in Cellular and Molecular Biology.

After exploring a broad scientific curriculum during her undergraduate studies in Biology and Health—ranging from mathematics and chemistry for biologists to biophysics—she developed a strong interest in cell biology and human pathophysiology. She then pursued a Master’s degree in Integrative Biology and Physiology, specializing in Biology of Ageing, which she completed in 2024. Myckaëla gained her first research experience in the team of Etienne Morel (INEM), where she investigated autophagy and the membrane contact sites involved in autophagosome biogenesis under nutrient stress. Seeking to broaden her scientific perspective, she conducted her Master 2 internship at the Bichat Faculty of Medicine, focusing on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Driven by her passion for fundamental cellular mechanisms, she returned to Etienne Morel’s team for her PhD.

Since October 2024, her work aims to decipher how skin cells mobilize their cytoskeleton and organelles to protect themselves from UV-induced stress in both physiological and pathological contexts.
